With the Final of the Barrett Cup against Chilham Reserves approaching rapidly, Sandwich Town FC Manager Marc Taylor held his final training session of the season at Gazen Salts in Sandwich on the evening of Thursday 21st May - and not a spy was to be seen anywhere!
Reflecting on the session and looking forward to the game Marc had the following words:
"There was an excellent turnout from the team last night, with the lads in great spirits and showing real camaraderie throughout the session.
On a warm Thursday evening, the squad were put through their paces in a focused and competitive training session. The main emphasis was on setting up in match situations, working on our patterns of play, structure, and movement both on and off the ball.
The lads competed well across the full 90-minute session, with the effort and attitude there for all to see. We’re hoping to carry that momentum into the final game of our season.
We know the opposition will provide a very tough test, but we have prepared to the best of our ability and the squad is ready for the challenge ahead.
We hope to see as many people from Sandwich as possible there supporting the local team.
The manager is ready.
The lads are ready.
Let’s bring the cup home."
The cup final is being played and Whitstable Football Club.
We would love to see the ranks of the Sarnie Army in attendance roaring the lads to victory!
