Sandwich Town FC roll out of bed and back onto home turf at Sir Roger Manwood’s to face Ramsgate Vale FC for the first time this season. The Vale currently sit two points ahead with a game in hand, but we’ve got a funny feeling that could all change once the bacon rolls are digested and the whistle blows.

Lewis Amos, still basking in the glory of last week’s screamer, will be out to remind everyone it wasn’t a fluke, or at least that lightning can strike twice. Expect him to pop up in the right place at the right time (mainly near the goal, hopefully).

At the back, Declan Wood will be doing what he does best, calmly sorting out the chaos like a man defusing a bomb made of wayward passes and panicked clearances. If there’s a defensive fire to put out, Declan’s got the extinguisher ready.

And then there’s Haydon Croxton, who’s still dusting off the rust after his ankle injury. He’s moving better every week, and while he might not be at Formula 1 pace just yet, he’s certainly off the stabilisers. A few more games and he’ll be back terrorising midfielders in true Croxton style.

With home advantage, questionable coffee, and the loyal Sandwich faithful on the side lines, the lads will be aiming to slice through Ramsgate Vale and bag those all-important three points. After all, nothing beats starting your Sunday by ruining someone else’s.
