As the end of the current season approaches, the Sandwich Town FC Sunday team has two more games left and the firm belief that promotion is on the cards, with a possibility of taking the league title still in the mix.
We asked the team Manager, Jack Curtis to give us a few words to sum up the season so far and hopes for the final couple of league games this season:
"What a roller coaster of a season it has been for Sandwich Town FC Sundays.
We’ve enjoyed a lot of success in the league this year and currently remain undefeated with just two games left to play. The aim now is to finish the season unbeaten while hoping the team above us slips up, giving us the chance to clinch the top spot.
We’ve also had some strong cup runs this season. Unfortunately, we fell short of reaching a final, which was one of the objectives we set ourselves at the beginning of the year. That’s something we’ll be looking to change next season!
I’m incredibly proud of the lads and the hard work they’ve put in, especially defensively. Conceding just 14 league goals so far all season is a huge achievement and reflects the commitment, discipline, and togetherness within the squad. To add to that, we are only three goals away from beating our all-time league goals record for a season with two games still to go.
This team continues to grow stronger every year, and we’re always looking to add more experience and talent to help push us even further."
Sandwich Town FC Sundays play their penultimate game of the season on Sunday 17th May at Jackey Bakers Recreation Ground in Ramsgate against Westwood FC.
Kick off 10:30am.
Good luck lads!!
